Predictor Golf Data Analytics engine (PGDA)
What is the Predictor GOLF? It is an online golf analytics modelling tool that analyzes player skill factors and outputs ranked results based on the selected query weight values provided. The PGDA database includes all golfers competing on the PGA Tour. Its formula uses a golfers past results and current skill factor trends in resolving its projections. It is an predictive data modelling tool specifically designed to analyze golf statistics and predict results for upcoming PGA Tour event.

Player Performance Prediction Formula
The formula inputs are customizable. Inputs are grouped as Player Skill Factors (PSFs). You decide the weights of importance for each PSF value. The PGDA tool will process the weighted skill factors as inputs and display the analyzed results.

Formula Input Factor: Player Skill Factor (PSF)
This factor is based on current and past years performance (putting, scoring, accuracy, gir, driving, scrambling).

  1. Player Skill Factor
Each players skill factor (PSF) is determined by tallying up skill factor points based on how well the player performed for each skill factor category (accuracy, distance, gir, putting, saves, scoring). These categories are assigned weights of importance. By running these weights into the PGDA engine, the player ranking can be determined for those weights at the current point in time.
  2. Course Specific Skills Factor(s)
When running the analysis for a specific course, the weights entered should reflect the level of difficulty for that course. Some courses reward distance more so then other skill factor categories. Long par fives, wide fairways. Other courses reward accuracy, with narrow fairways and/or long secondary rough. Other courses have difficult greens to read, and golfers with higher putting skills may dominate. Each course can have different skill factor requirements. Set the skill factor inputs to the appropriate levels of importance. This will result in a more accurate report ranking players accordingly.
  3. PGDA Free/Pro Dashboard
The Free dashboard enables running predictor analysis on any specific past event, all events for the current season. The Pro dashboard enables running analysis for upcoming event fields which are posted on Monday at the begining of the event week.

  4. Stats Summary
Running the predictor will first display the overall player stats for each player listed in the current event field.

  5. Results Summary
Following the Stats Summary is a detailed table of the overall prediction order with the players sorted from high to low for overall SKill Factor points earned baesed on the dashboard settings.
